If you’re waiting for your new passport
If you have questions about passports, go to the Department of State's website. The Department of State has other resources to help parents and children in custody disputes. HM Passport Office
These letters tell the customer what documents they must send to HM Passport Office to obtain a passport. State Department fees are paid separately from USPS fees. Take your printed receipt listing your confirmation number and appointment details. Our FedEx Office team can provide your new passport photo and help print out your application forms and the shipping label provided by RushMyPassport through the online process. Your expired or soon-to-expire passport and your check payment for the government fee must be included when shipping the required documentation to RushMyPassport. When accepting a status letter for passport purposes, you must check if the customer needs to supply further supporting documents along with the letter. Eligibility to Renew a U.S. Passport

Liaise with the Quality, Examination Support team , set up a case conference with UKVI if the details on UKVI’s system match. Scan the status letter to the application as a permanent record. If the details shown on the UKVI issuing system do not match the details shown on the file, you must follow if the details do not match the records. You can use the Home Office status letter as part of the customer’s additional evidence when considering a customer’s claim on a balance of probabilities. UKVI will send a copy of the status letter to the customer. UKVI may issue the customer with a letter known as a “production of ….” letter.
This is because we stopped recording all status letters on the Browse Status Letter file when UKVI stopped issuing status letters solely for passport purposes. You must check the letter from the Home Office is an original status letter and not a “production of…..” letter if you intend to use it as part of a passport application. This guidance tells HM Passport Office examiners what a status letter is and how to use status letters with passport applications. Applicants willing to avail of the services on 17th December 2022 may refer to the Check Appointment Availability link on the Passport Seva website() for booking the appointments. You must refer the application to your operational team leader if your assessment of the customer’s nationality status is different to that recorded on the Home Office status letter. You must add a case note to the application recording the Home Office reference number and customer’s nationality status as shown on the accepted status letter.
If any of these are true, you cannot renew your passport. Instead, you must apply for a new passport in person using form DS-11. Depending on where you are traveling outside of the U.S., you will need to determine if you need a passport book or a passport card. When completing your child's passport application, we recommend you add your name in the “In Care Of” part of the Mailing Address section on Form DS-11.
